Gotta love meds

I mentioned before that I have scoliosis and therefor have frequent back aches. Over the years it's just something that I've gotten used to but the older I get the harder it is. Every morning, I get up, go to work and come home moaning and groaning for the rest of the night. Other people call their doctors and get great pain killers or excuses for light duty. Not me, I get the old "oh we just suggest taking ibuprofen for that". Well Yesterday on my lunch break I called because now the backache has turned into a back and hip ache. Was I ever shocked when they told me to come in. I wonder if it was because I used the words burning pain? Well she said that it was most likely a sciatica type thing and gave me actual drugs. Wooohoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only reason I'm telling you any of this is because I may be blogging in a drug induced state and may appear loopier than usual.
So on with the post. Or maybe I'll just go take a pill and show you a picture I took the other day.
Over the weekend I was laying around  feeling very artistic and had out a sketch pad and pencil. Yes that does say "I hope you dance like a funky chicken" Believe it or not, I wasn't on drugs at the time.

I sure hope the drugs work. I had a child student that had scoliosis and she had to wear a brace all day except for one hour. I didn't realize it had lasting effects. Go ahead and blog in a drugged state if it makes your back feel better. Take care and have a great day.

Drugs can be good, but I don't have much tolerance for them. I would be a cheap druggie. I do like the prescription anti-inflammatory drugs though. They work just fine for my occasional backaches.

I hope you feel better soon. Big hug and a great big hi to my pal Duke. :)

Ann there is nothing by far worse than backache for it hurts no matter what position you are in. Standing, sitting, lying, moving, still ... oh and sneezing ... ouch!!

I know that drugs can be amazing, especially ones that are opiate based but (not sure if my scribbles will help at all - so forgive the ramble) you mention sciatica. As this is a nerve related pain according to the text books (I used to have it many years ago) I finally got rid of mine with high dose Vitamin B complex - as I was advised that it was caused through a shortage of Vitamin B1 (which should never be taken alone as it can lead to baldness). I found that they not only cured sciatica but also neuralgia - and incidentally I was also advised that they prevent the onset of Shingles.

Regarding back pain - one of the most effective natural ones that I have found is Catsclaw, Devilsclaw and Turmeric ... there are quite a lot kicking about at the moment and it is often trial and error with natural pain relief.

I do hope that your course of treatment is successful and that the pain is soon under control ... my thoughts are certainly with you as I wouldn't wish back pain on anyone - so take care. :)

I'm sorry to hear about your back. When I was working maintenance, I sprained my back and was laid-up for about a week. The doctor gave me some pain pills and I have to say that if I knew how to draw, there would have been some funky pictures.
I hope you get to feeling better, soon.

Oh, oh, I can't wait to see what you come up with now. None of the drugs that I have been prescribed over the years have caused me to see pretty colors everywhere, but I'm a-hopin' that yours will. Whoa, we could get a pic of Duke looking like he's been tie-dyed! (FYI: No, one should not actually dip cute little white puppies in vats of ink. A lady out in Colorado (I think) tried that a few years ago, and the authorities did not approve.)

Hope you feel better.
Digging the sketch... It looks like you had fun. Is there a relation between the fish and the funky chicken dancing?

Don't you just love doodling! You can come up with some great stuff. I love yours. It seems you have talent in every thing you do.
As for the back. I have back pain everyday. Suppose to be mussel spasm.
I've had it since 1968. I take meds everyday. I hope yours work.

Love the drawing :)
Hope the "drugs" are helping! Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be tough and only use over the counter pain meds.

Feel better soon, you hear?! My dd has scoliosis ... goes to a chiropractor regularly and does yoga ... so far so good. My sis has sciatic pain down her hip & leg ... ouch, painful ... she does rest & meds. Me? I have TN on top of everything else ... won't EVEN talk about it, so excruciating :*(

Whatever works for you, do it! Looking forward to more loopy (or no) artistic stuff!! :)

I love anything that helps me be pain free. Hope you feel better soon. I think the only time I ever doodled was in school when I should have been paying attention to other things. I remember doing the funky chicken way back when.

Love the picture!!

Gayle. I was relieved that they finally suggested something besides over the counter. I'm not too bad on my days off but during the week when I'm working can be pretty bad sometimes.
