One last shaggy look

Right after work today Duke had an appointment with the groomers. We're trying a new one out and hopefully we like this one. The last one was ok up until the last time I took him there. She did a horrible job and rather than complain I just chose to not return. I'll give you one last look at his adorable shaggy face before the cut though.
You'll have to wait for a look at the handsome young Duke. Don't worry though, you will see his fancy new cut. Did I hear someone ask what he's wearing? I can't tell you, it's a surprise for Halloween.
I'm also now a little behind on visiting all of you but since tomorrow is Friday I'll have plenty of time tomorrow to get caught up.

  9. A good groomer is worth their weight in gold. We have a great one and our dog is 85 pounds. That's a lot of hair. Can't wait to see the little man after him groom.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

  12. Hmmm...I think Duke is a peace loving Hippie. Did you ask him if he wanted a trim?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well he looks a jolly happy chappy at the moment so be hopes that he enjoys his haircut.

I used to trim my little westie by hand as their were no grooming parlours anywhere near to where we lived and as I didn't possess clippers I had to use scissors ... a very long job. This meant doing face one day - bottom another and so on. Fortunately, she was a good little dog and would stay patiently still and her coat took a very long time to grow. :)

I look forward to seeing a very smart young gentleman with my next visit ... hope all goes well.
    Good luck!

Sharkbytes mop head is a perfect description...lol

donna I have to agree with you

country mouse studio hmm, someone else had the same problem yesterday, hope it's not a problem on my end

bossy betty I think you'll be impressed

livintheblues I couldn't help it, he really did need it :)

Lin I won't make you wait long

Sandee wow 85 pounds is a lot of hair.

anne underdog is a good guess but nope that's not it :)

as ahmad thanks, he is a cutie, just wait till you see the whole costume, he's adorable in it :)

jean well long haired hippie would have been a good choice for him but since he asked for the trim he'll be something different :)

kloggers Duke is always a jolly happy chappy :). I can't imagine trying to trim Duke by hand myself. He's a bit of a fidgety although the groomer was able to deal with it quite easily I doubt I would fair so well.

Grace I didn't even think when I took the picture that I wasn't ready to reveal Duke's costume. More than a "bit" of a trim is in order

tahtimbo no blue bow but he did get something

beaded tail I like his shaggy look but unfortunately Wade does not

Char no pedicure just the clip

fishhawk never went under it, he is quite proud of his new look :)

allotments4you Duke has his own wardrobe, and he is now wearing one of his fancy sweaters when he goes outside

audrey I do too, bad haircuts for dogs or moms are the pits :)

russ you would not believe how excited Duke gets when I pull out one of his sweaters or bandannas. He really likes dressing up, and it's fun for me too

Sandra Duke really made the grade didn't he...lol

Duni :) yep he pulls cute off well

out on the prairie I wouldn't mind the extra drive if the service is good. That's cute, using the name Doggie

JuneZach I'm sure you will be amazed at the difference

Leeuna the new cut will be revealed in the next post, but you'll have to wait a bit longer for the costume

the old geezer. well thanks for becoming a follower, I'll pop on over and visit you in a bit.
