More from Erie Bluffs.

I forgot to mention yesterday that the trip to Erie Bluffs cost me $25. On my way home my low tire pressure light came on. Not a big deal, it's been happening every couple months or so. I've got an air compressor so I just fill them up when the light comes on. When I got home and looked at the tires the one in the back was almost flat. WOW, it never goes down that fast. I called the guy down the road that does my inspection and he told me to bring it down and they would have a look at it. It cost me $25 to get the tire fixed but on the bright side, it was cheaper than having to buy a new tire.

I spotted lots of wildflowers along the way. I especially liked these black-eyed Susans.

I don't know what the purple stuff is but it sure looked pretty.

I liked it so much I took two pictures.

The goldenrod is always a sure sign that fall is on its way.

As I was nearing the parking lot a butterfly kept flitting around me. Every time I raised the camera it would disappear. Try as I might it would not let me take its picture. I think it was teasing me and daring me to try and catch it.

I've had that happen on the tires so often...if it isn't one thing it's another. LOVE the wildflowers!!

The golden rod reminds me of home long ago. My Dad had a big lot of it in the garden and the yellow always appealed to me.
Good job the tire got you home or you would have been in trouble.

love that golden rod and grass at the end, bad butterfly, making you try so hard. on nooooooooooo on the tire repair. glad it did not strand you out there in the park. when I first married at age 19 I had not a lick of sense, my husband had terrible allergies and I picked golden rod and filled the vases in the apartment. whoo hooo that went well. looking at your susans they are not like mine and makes me wonder if mine are susans

Glad you made it home with a flattish tire, and that it was able to be fixed without having to buy a new tire.

Love your photos. Butterflies are hard to capture sometimes.

Have a GREAT day ~ FlowerLady

I'm glad you got your tire fixed...you need to be safe on the road! And I love the 'end of summer' flowers!

You know what they say about chasing butterflies.....

Gees...is every obstacle gonna come your way to challenge you?? Criminy. But...dang, girl....you are rockin' the survival skills!! You are so strong--even if you don't feel like it all the time.

Good thing you got home before the tire was totally flat! Beautiful flowers! Especially the purple, wish I knew what it is!

I'm glad you got your tire fixed for 25. That's much cheaper than a new tire.

Love your adventure. Too bad that butterfly was so elusive.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

Such pretty flowers! I love the angles that you took photos of them too. Glad you got your tire fixed so you were stranded somewhere!

Well you know what some folks say about butterflies - they are the departed coming by to say hello. I hope you have Triple A, especially going into the Winter months better safe than sorry - when we had a car we always had it and for years never needed it then there were those recent Winters when the battery kept dying - worth all the pennies.

Erie Bluffs is a gorgeous area ---and anytime you can, you ought to drive there and do some hiking/walking... There's just nothing better than being out in nature. We saw some of these same wildflowers last week on our trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Hugs,
Betsy

I love seeing fields filled with it. The yellow color is just so pretty

I was kinda wondering the same thing on the obstacle thing. That rain cloud needs to move on. I guess I always have done pretty good at Handel g the big stuff. It's usually the stupid little things that get me the most

I know. I'm glad that the vehicle has that light that comes on to tell you when the tires are low. Otherwise I m8ght not have noticed it until it we's totally flat

Ann Thompson said...

Yes, wag cheaper especially since they always tell you 8f you need one you should buy two so they wear more evenly or something like that

I'm always a bit paranoid about breaking down somewhere because I have no idea who I would be able to call for help

I've heard that about butterflies and thought about that while I was there. I even started talking to it because. I figured it was Wade. He always did hate having his picture taken
J did have Triple A a long time ago. My aunt got it for me because I was driving a half hour each way to work and she worried about me break8ng down. Come winter I won't need to go very far. Work is only a half mile away and I can walk if I have to

I want to go back and explore more of the trails. I've seen picture of a trail that has a great view of the lake.

Nice of the newer cars to tell us when they are going flat. lol

It is, otherwise I might not have noticed until it was totally flat. Amazing what a vehicle can do these days.

Butterflies can be so hard if they don't want their pictures taken. I have lots of them right here in my own back yard, but they are all too fast for me.

Ann said...

I'm never able to get a picture. They are way faster than I am.

And you didn't damage the wheel. Always a plus when a tire gets really low.

Ann Thompson said...

Yeah, thank goodness for that.
