From there it just kept coming down all day long. By the time I left work there was at least 8 inches of snow piled up on top of my car. Now of course it felt like a whole lot more but my estimate may be off. When I drove up the road approaching my house I realized that I was not going to get into my driveway. I parked in the street and trudged up the driveway through about a foot of snow. Before I did anything else I put on my boots, grabbed my gloves, and went outside and started shoveling. Once I was done with that I headed inside for a cup of coffee and my blanket.

Pretty...but also pretty old, and pretty hard shoveling. Nope, not for me. I like not having to shovel sunshine.
Should read pretty "cold"
I agree with Annie, I am keeping my sunshine. yikes, i have never seen that much snow, the most was maybe 3 inches and I was 13 years old. 15 the last time I saw snow. I can't even imagine coming out into all that snow and shoveling it. I am exhausted thinking about it
What a job that must have been! It looks like more thann8 inches to me!
Entirely too cold!
It is so beautiful but what hard work all the shoveling has to be! I think I'll stay put here in Florida. Have a great weekend Ann. :)
Shoveling is awful. I'm so sorry you had to do this. Ugh, ugh, ugh.
But you are in for the weekend and hope no more snow comes.
Please don't *hate* me, for my Sig. Line. LOL
Merry Midwinter

Ohhhhhhhh Ann, what a MESS for you folks that-a-way!! After working all day you had to start shoveling yet?! Lord have mercy, girl. I know that none of us has a money tree growing in our backyard but maybe you should try to find someone to plow out your driveway for you, honey. Tell them they don't need to plow unless it's a storm and the snow is deep... and to use their discretion. I bet it won't be too terribly often that you'll have to hire them. Beautiful photos, but I bet that coffee & blanket were never as welcome! I bet you got a weeks worth of exercise.
Oh my, it is lovely to look at but shoveling the drive way is a lot of work.
Ugh on the shoveling Ann. Pretty but....and coffee and being wrapped up in a blanket sounds nice, just what's needed after all that hard work.
I'm so sorry you had to shovel on top of everything else. I hope you had a great weekend to make up for it.
First time commenting on your blog :) I've "seen" you around on other blogs I follow and thought I'd come and check yours out. Oh my gosh with all that snow! It just makes me cold looking at the pictures of it! Such cold temperatures too!! We lived in Billings Montana for 8 years and I remember many a morning and night getting out there shoveling snow. Of course that was 15 years ago. Not sure I would have the stamina these days to do so!
Stay safe and warm!
betty
