Happiness is...

...Having 3 children who know what you like.

For example. Amanda, the oldest child got me new slippers. Comfy, warm and soft. Nothing better than coming home after work, taking off the shoes and putting on these.

Brad, the youngest knows his mother has a weakness for chocolate. A box of chocolate covered cherries was a great choice.

And Duke, my furriest child knows how happy I get when he sits still and poses for pictures. Here he is modeling his gift from Amanda.
Is that not the most adorable scarf you have ever seen? Too bad I wasn't paying attention to the fact that the tag was showing when I took the picture.

Finally, happiness is feeling well enough to go to work this morning and then having such a light load I finished early and left at noon.

I'm off tomorrow so the happiness continues and I'll show you some more Christmas gifts that made me happy.

Can your kids put me on their Christmas list? Comfy slippies and chocolate covered cherries? Oh, yeah - me too, me too, please!

Glad you're feeling better so quickly...

Oooooh, somebody had a good Christmas! I just love Duke's scarf--that is adorable! And dang, if he doesn't know how cute he is!

I was going to ask how you are, then I see you told us, I have been thinking about you, and am so glad you're better. That is the cutest little tiny scarf I've ever seen!!! It would be my favorite of the gifts. I even enlarged Duke to see if the tag said where it came from, though I don't know why. I couldn't read it, but I don't even have a pet! It's just darn adorable! I can't wait to see the rest of your gifts! Do you manage a bakery in a grocery store? That would mean you need to be on your feet the whole time, ouch! You should get those shoes with the big coiled springs on the bottom, wearers love them! A lot of nurses wear them.

I am pleased to see you with your feet up Ann and enjoying this Christmas time. It is a strange time of the year really for not only is it recognized as a celebration for the birth of Jesus but it was treated as a special time long ago before modern day religions.

Unusually, this particular year I haven't seen any mistletoe growing. It usually grows on either apple trees or oaks. They say that the mistletoe of the oak is rather special and when gathered, it is believed that many fancied that they were able to see their futures. If you managed to get some mistletoe then take a white berry or two and rub them into the bark of a tree branch and if a plant grows it is said to bring you good fortune.

I too have had both slippers and chocolates ... probably too many chocolates!! Enjoy your day tomorrow .... I hope to be putting my feet up for a short while as well.

So glad you are feeling better; great gifts (especially the chocolate - yummy!)
What I want to know is why the tag is allowed to exist; I've seen you Photoshop sisfriend, so how come you didn't wave your hands over the mouse and just POOF it out of existence? *grin*
Even with the tag I absolutely adore the photo of Duke, definitely your latest and greatest :o)

Yes, you are truly blessed. (I would add that I am plumb jealous, but that would show how petty I can be. So, I won't.)

Great slippers Ann. I am not jealous of the chocolate. I would be if I didn't get a box also.Duke looks fantastic. Amanda has good taste in scarfs.
Glad you are feeling better. Now you need to rest up. Have a good day.

I got chocolate covered cherries too! Except I just threw out the remainder because I don't want to eat them all. Seriously, I won't even admit how many I shoveled in my face. Too embarrassing. Enjoy yours! I'm sure you have greater restraint than I do and you won't eat half the box in ONE day!

Those slippers look so warm and fuzzy. They look almost as warm as Duke. Speaking of Duke, his scarf is fabulous! He looks so smashing!

LDH he did do a good job of modeling for me. and yep those kids are smart ones

livintheblues what mom doesn't like chocolate

out on the prairie I didn't leave it on him too long I was afraid he would chew the little balls off

beaded tail and they can both be enjoyed at the same time too.

Grace I'll ask them to add you for next year :)

Lin other than the flu santa brought me yes I did

Ginny I thought the scarf was pretty cute too. Yes I am the in store bakery manager and yep on the feet the whole day other than breaks. I'll have to try those shoes out, I'll try anything

As thanks

Kloggers that is very interesting about the mistletoe. You always have such cool info and facts to share. I wish I had some mistletoe to try that out with

vanilla seven they are very comfy but I don't think we would both fit in them...lol

allotments4you your gifts were pretty great too

Jen the tag exists simply because the portion of my brain that would have caught that must have gotten flushed during my bout with the flu...lol

fishhawk I certainly have nothing to complain about that's for sure. I'm also lucky to have such great blog friends such as yourself :)

russ glad you got chocolates too. I wouldn't want to be sitting here teasing anyone with mine

Junk Drawer Kathy I actually haven't eaten that many but I'm sure once I'm back to normal I'll polish off the box

Anne the slippers are very warm, I love them. Duke just looked too cute in the scarf

Daisy Duke is all ready now for a day of fun in the snow. If only he could get me to go out there...lol

Christie thanks I thought so too

sheri he doesn't often sit that nice I think he was feeling sorry for me since I was sick

sandra if it's chocolate it's good to me :)

marg yes he sure was nothing better than that combination. That scarf is super cute

zach couldn't agree with you more

donna I think you may be right. Maybe I should get a picture of that

marie it is nice to know they pay some attention to mom :)

bossy betty I sure am :) got my feet up, my chocolates in my lap and the world is good...lol

I love Dukes scarf too, I wonder if he chews the balls on it?! I am not ready to let Christmas go..holding on to as much as I can yet! :D

gayle said...

I would love to get some slippers just like yours! Duke looks so cute in his scarf!

DSS said...

That scarf is absolutely, hands down, the most adorable thing ever. Cheers to Duke for posing so nicely :)

Ann said...

poetic shutterbug, just doesn't get any better than that does it?

Julie I was worried about him chewing the balls off too so I don't leave it on him if I'm not right there

gayle they are definitely nice slippers and I did need new ones

DSS he did do a nice job of posing, I think he was feeling sorry for me. I told my daughter now he needs one of those long stocking caps to match his scarf. Wouldn't that be adorable :)
