Move over Duke, Mom is back

I'm a bit concerned that some of you may become addicted to daily Duke posts and although I love my dog, I'm not ready to turn my blog over to him entirely. Quite frankly I believe that some of you already may be in need of a 12 step program so today I'm going to help you with step one.
1) admitted you were powerless over Duke and missed seeing some of Ann's crafty projects.

Go ahead I'll wait while you admit this to yourself.

Aw, now don't you feel just a little bit better?
Since you also admitted that you missed seeing some of my crafty projects, I'm going to reward you by showing you one.
I can't think of any other word to describe this than as a folio. This was made with one sheet of 12x12 cardstock. It was folded in half both ways and the bottom corners were folded in to create inside pockets

Something I haven't done in a while is tea bag folding so I thought I would do a poinsettia medallion to decorate the front of this
For the center a cut a small circle, covered it with glue and dropped some little tiny beads all over it. When it dried I loaded it up with glue again and added more beads.

Now I'm afraid I must go back to the couch and nurse my couching aching stuffy head self back to health. I think I just used up all my energy to do this post. "Achoo"

It is really beautiful and I wish I could do such good work at crafts but I suck at it I must admit! LOL (Hi Duke!) ;D

OK... I made the admission. Love that folio- and so simple!

Okay I love you too, but Duke is just the best. I'm hooked and need help. Bwahahahahaha.

Love the craft work as I always do. You are so talented.

Have a terrific day. My very best to Duke. :)

Beautiful tea bags folding. I didn't know why I haven't done this fold. Love what you did with the center.

Hope you will feel better soon.

How do you come up with those ideas..I admit artsy craftsy stuff is not one of my strengths..but I am amazed at the creative process..I guess we all have different talents..:)

I almost got the shakes of not seeing Duke until I realized he's still in the header! :)

That is a beautiful card and I do enjoy seeing your crafty projects too! I hope you get to feeling better soon!

What in heaven's name is tea bag folding? Those don't look like tea bags ::scratching head, all confused:: The finished product is quite lovely tho.

Oh, I hope your head gets better. My hubby is finishing up day 2 of a wretched something or other - all stuffed/runny nose, coughing, achy...Please don't get it!

Go away, go away ugly cold - Ann has too much to do for Christmas!

I sure hope you are feeling better! Maybe it is best to give Duke the reigns until you are germ free. You don't want to get the rest of us sick, do you?! ;)

The poinsettia is beautiful ~ I've never heard of tea bag folding. I need to check into it. I'd love to make something like this.

P.S. Ok - I admit it ~ and I do feel better now that I have!

Well, your crafts never cease to amaze me! I was very much into crafts for years and my DIL is Martha Stewart junior. But still, I have never seen anything quite like what you make. These things take a lot of precision and there is no room for being off just a little bit. Perfection. Good for you for posting when you're sick, but be sure and get some rest. Honey and lemon, zinc lozenges.

Nope, that didn't do a thing for me. I NEED MY DUKE FIX!!!

Watch out Ann. If you get to sneezing too much Duke will move right in. Of course he can't do the crafts as well as you. But once again I am also hooked on Duke post.
Have a good weekend and a wonderful week ahead.Get well soon.

Well, we aren't going to admit to anything because guess what?? We love your craft simply because we are in awe that you can do those things and we cannot, but we also love Duke equally. So it is a tie and we do not miss any of your crafts. You are very talented making all those wonderful things. Take care and get some rest on that sofa.

these are beautiful, but I love duke best of all. tell him that for me. is that a teabag? i don't know what teabag folding is, i have no craft bones in my body.

Julie thanks, I've just always enjoyed doing crafty things even the ones that don't come out so good are fun for e..lol

sharkbytes ah doesn't that feel better...lol thanks and yes it was simple

sandee well don't despair Duke won't go away completely. Now how could he really :)

Helen maybe it's because it's done with paper but I've been fascinated with tea bag folding since I first saw it

livintheblues lots and lots of surfing the internet for crafty sites. I find all kinds of ideas.

Ann well you have balance which is a good thing. Too much overload on one or the other will get you in trouble...lol I actually did this project a week or so ago so I had a clear head then

tahtimbo for me, it is easy, most of the time. Although the first attempts are usually a bit lame

gayle thanks, I really liked the way the medallion came out

beaded tail maybe that's the key for me, keeping Duke in the header will ensure that all of you are satisfies...lol

Grace tea bag folding is done with little squares of paper. I believe it got it's name because the person who came up with the original idea started it by sitting one day folding the little envelope that the tea bags come in and it took off from there. Hope your husband is feeling better. Mine has been pretty much been hovering for almost a week off and on

Lin oh I would hate for any of you to be all stuffy headed for the holidays. Maybe I can wear a mask while I blog...lol

marie thanks. It's really quite easy to do and can even be quite addictive :) You can find all kinds of directions and patterns online for tea bag folding

Ginny I've always loved crafts and sort of got away from doing them for a while. It's been a year of rediscovering my love of it.

Fishhawk that's what I figured

Russ I believe you're right. He does seem to be on a bit of a power trip. I'm going to have to work on letting him know who the alpha dog is around here...lol

Marg I'll settle for a tie. I guess I can share equal time with Duke or a 60/40 split anyway...lol

Every time you show one of your amazingly creative items I want to go to the craft room!
That is really beautiful.

LOVE Duke too - but really like to see what you are up to.

Ann said...

Sandra, we must have been typing at the same time...lol I will pass the message on to Duke, he'll appreciate that. It's not an actual tea bag, just what the technique is called. It's done with little squares of paper.

Ann said...

Audrey, well what are you waiting for, head to the craft room...lol It's always amazing to me what you can do with a little paper.

I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Take a bow in centre stage, Ann - this project is fantastic! I love the effect of the 'tea bag' folding technique, creating such sharp edges. And the beads in the centre - superb! - no wonder your head was aching afterwards, I bet they rolled about everywhere. I'm sure that Duke is justly proud of you.

A very impressive cover. Lets see more, I watch a few videos myself, but sometimes need a few replays.

How beautiful! I love the beads you've added. Hope you feel better.

PS...I don't want help for my Duke addiction. More Duke!!!

Oh oh ~ I had that crazy cold for almost 3 weeks. I finally went to the Dr and he gave me some antibiotics. This morning was the first time I felt 'normal'.

Hope you are feeling back to your crafty self soon!
