Changes

I've always said that I didn't handle change well. The more I think about it the more I believe that I do handle it well, I just don't always like it. Let's face it, not all change is good. I would have to say that I've had more bad change than good this year but I'm confident in saying that I'm handling it well. Maybe not perfectly, but well.

One of the changes was the pool. I showed you the picture recently of what it looked like. I was really quite angry with Wade for not taking care of it. There are several things that I'm angry with him about but that's maybe another post. Anyway, the pool is gone.

The neighbor came over either Thursday or Friday evening and tore it down. Come to think of it I think it was on Thursday that he started and then he came back Friday to finish up and haul it out of there. All that's left is the liner that I need to get out there and cut up and take out to the trash.  The end closest to where I was standing in the picture is dug down about 6 inches and the other end is pretty level. Something will have to be done to fill that in and then the opening on the deck where the steps went into the pool will need to be taken care of. Not a major concern at the moment though.

In other news. On Thursday when I was mowing the lawn, I had finished the back and was about 1/2 done with the front when I heard a clunk. It was right after that I noticed that my self-propelled mower was no longer propelling itself. I guess I'm going to need to learn to use the rider. Otherwise, I'm going to kill myself trying to push that mower without it helping.

I'm glad the pool is gone, it did look pretty bad. Oh no, now you will have to buy a new mower! Check www.consumersearch for ratings. The older I get, the less I like change. Because the older I get, the more the changes are bad.

I always go screaming into change, but most of the time and happy with it, but not the kind of changes you are going through... glad that pool is gone... and oh noooo on the mower... maybe a belt came off? does it still cut, just has to be pushed? we always bought the non self propelled because I could not stand to walk that slow, when I cut I walk fast, so it can be done without being self propelled.

You can get the mower repaired relatively cheaply. That happened to ours and it can be fixed. I think it is a cable or something. Look into it.

That is great to have the pool gone. You will feel better when it is level and the grass fills in.

I'm with you on change. I'm getting worse as I age. And I am getting more emotional too--which I hate. I am going through a kitchen remodel and getting rid of our old living room furniture is making me cry. SO DUMB. And it will be nice when it is done, but the change part is freaking me out. It's not you.

You're doing pretty well in my view. You're still here with us and we're able to stay close to you. That's important. You'll get all the other things smoothed out as you go along. I'm proud of you.

Have a fabulous day, my friend. Much love to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

For me, I wouldn't have a pool...just too much work & upkeep. Especially if you can't use it year 'round. And I'm not a swimmer. lol

The riding mowers are easy Ann!

Yes we do get angry at the people we love who have died - not an unusual emotion to have. I don't t mind change so much, of course the biggest change you have had to deal with - well, I don't think I will do well with that one if the time comes that I have to.

I'm glad too. I have a rider but don't know how to USD it.

Asked on Facebook for recommendations for repair. We'll see. Just having the pool out of there is a relief. I hated looking at it like that

Thanks. What do they say? Slow and steady wins the race?

We bought the pool When the kids were in grade school so it's been there a lot of years. For the amount of times it got used, it just wasn't worth the money and effort. Of course Wade liked having it.

There have been plenty of times Ive been mad at him and I'm sure there will be plenty more. I guess change is not as bad as I used to think it was but depends on what it is

OH, I'm sorry you lost the pool. I think you really liked having it.

It's been there a lot of years and it's really more trouble than it's worth. I think the dog used it more than we did

Oh when I was younger I loved change...always changing something, my hair, my walls with color or what I hung on them, my furniture and the placement...yep, not so much the last few yrs. I rather not have to adjust to change. You have been through a lot lately and had to deal with things you usually did not deal with. I am sorry for that but you are strong and you are a tropper, and you will adjust.

Yay for the pool being gone! Bummer on the mower but if you can handle bakery equipment, you can do the riding mower no problem!

Thank you for this post about changes. It got me to realize that I handled change better when I was working than I have since I had to leave work in 12/2014 and retire a few months later due to medical issues - not sure why since having to retire has eased stress and anxiety some and now I can be with my dogs more.
It feels so good when something - like getting your pool out - finally happens. I've had some home redecoration done which I've wanted for some time - such a good feeling.

Change is never fun but when we have to do it we do!! Glad that the pool is being taken care of. Sorry about the lawn mower.

Changes are hard to take sometimes, especially with the loss of our dear husbands. But through them we grow and learn to appreciate so much.

Glad your pool is gone, I'll be glad when my property is cleared of 'junk/materials'.

My electric lawn mower conked out this week, and thirty minutes or so later, the handle on my rake broke. ;-) I've been googling reviews on electric mowers until I'm overwhelmed with info. Haven't decided on a model yet.

Have a good Friday and weekend ~ FlowerLady

Yeah I can do it but I need someone to give me a small lesson on what to do lol

I think you're handling change quite well from what I can see - this was something out of your control and sudden - here you are left to pick up the pieces and you deserve a pat on the back for the way you're carrying on as best you can. Glad the pool is gone - one less thing on your mind. HUGS

Thanks. I feel like I'm doing pretty good. I was glad to see the pool go. I've haven't cared if It was there or not for a long time. Wade was the one who used it most
