Way back in November I happened to spot a sign advertising the gas price across the street from where I work. I had to pull out my cell phone and take a picture of this.
Yes, that does say 0.09. I was tempted to go in and demand to get my gas for that price. Believe it or not this actually stayed liked that for almost 3 weeks.
And Walmart thinks they have great rollbacks.

False advertising. That's what this is. Or their sign was stuck. Or they don't care. Way cool.
Have a terrific day. My best to Duke and thank him for all the puppy kisses. :)
Fill 'er up!!!
Oh Ann!!!!! Ours has just gone up again today ... some garages are charging from between £128.09 to £130.09 per litre on unleaded petrol (gas) (we no longer have fuel in gallons over here), 5 litres is equivalent to just over l UK gallon. Our general tax (VAT) on all items with the exception of food and children's clothing has gone up from 17 1/2% to 20%.
Definitely worth the drive. I'm heading your way!
If only! Can't wait to see your new floor!
If it's posted are they then obligated to sell at that price?
Now that's a deal!! I'll grab a tanker truck and be right over :)
Three weeks!! Well, there used to be a law, still is as far as I know. And a store had to give you merchandise at the price that was marked on it, even if it was the store's fault! I can't believe no one has noticed this or tried to get gas for this price!
That's such a cheap gas price you would be tempted to drive around until your gas tank was empty so that you could fill it up again! :)
xo Catherine
Wouldn't that be so wonderful if it was true? It's back over $3 here again. Ugh. But at least it's a law in Oregon that we can't pump our own gas! :)
Are you suggesting that some of the people of your town may be a little slow? If so, have Duke have a talk with them.
I want some of that 09 gas. I paid 3.22 yesterday.OUCH.
whoo boy, I might just have to drive there for a fill up. I remember .25 cents a gallon but never that low.
Most definitely a roll back!! I remember when gas was 29 cents per gallon! Now I am dating myself! And I remember price wars! I think my dad once bought gas for 19 cents per gallon or was it 9 cents!! And remember the service...! So many nicely dressed young men would come running out to take care of the car!
So looking forward to seeing your finished living room! The floor is so pretty.
Thanks for praying for Edward!! He seems to be doing better! He's purring and pumping his little feet today, something he didn't do a few days ago...
Blessings!
Ann
I paid 2.99 yesterday.I laugh buying my first import in 1973 to save gas,it was clear up to 65 cents. When I first startd driving they would have gas wars and everyone would go for the lower prices.
I would have told them I wanted that price. And then I would have been upset that they argued with me about why they could not honor their advertising.
Hello!
Don't we wish that something like this would be for real! I am surprised that leaving this sign up without a qualifier of some kind in the store didn't get them in trouble for false advertising. But I also see that below on the sign it says 3.29 so maybe that is what covered them.
I love how the new floor looks! That must have been fun moving the aquarium! :<) Looking forward to seeing the finished project!
I wanted to let you know that I have left you a gift on my blog.
Wishing you a happy day today!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
now that's a sign!
You should have gone in Ann...In the Uk you could have asked for it and due to the advertising they would have had to give it at that price....I wonder if any customers really did mange to get there fuel so cheap???
I can't believe they left it like that for so long. Crazy
Awesome! I can actually remember gas for 29 c a gallon. Wonder when (if) it was ever 9 c.
Sandee, if only it would have been true :)
Lin, really....lol make that a double
kloggers our keeps going up too, won't be able to afford to drive. That's some tax hike.
sheri, I'll save you the trip, they fixed it...lol
reeni, I know wouldn't it be nice
grace that's what I would think, I never did go to see what the deal was with them leaving it like that
tahtimbo, I would have gotten one too if that price was for real
ginny yep 3 weeks, can't believe it. I thought that if they posted like that they had to honor it but who knows
catherine I know,
fishhawk, there are a lot of people in my town that are a little slow.
russ me too. ours is at 3.19 right now
sandra I remember 30 some cents a gallong AND gifs with a fill up
ann sure is. I was glad to read that Edward was feeling better
out on the prairie I remember the gas wars. I can also remember when I first started driving going the gas station and getting just a dollars worth of gas. wouldn't get very far on that now
erika I seriously thought of that but I'm sure they would have had some excuse
whimcees I sure do. gas is outrageous these days. The aquarium really wasn't that hard to move. Thanks for passing on that award, so nice of you
sir jorge couldnt pass up getting a picture of that one
allotments4you I wish I would have at least gone over and asked them about it. I don't know how they got away with that.
b boys mom I know me too. I thought for sure it would have been fixed by the next day
sharkbytes. I think the lowest I can remember was about 35. My parents were sure to have seen it at 9 though. They may have even thought that was a little on the high side...lol
